01 — Acceptance

Use of the services

By accessing or using covered services, you agree to these terms and any separate written agreement that applies to a specific project or client relationship. If a separate signed agreement conflicts with these terms, the signed agreement controls for that relationship.

Institute for Civil Memory is the nonprofit section of GLC / Gwyn Legacy focused on public memory, civil record, research literacy, and historically durable knowledge infrastructure.

02 — Responsibilities

Accounts, access, and acceptable use

You are responsible for your account credentials, authorized users, submitted content, project materials, uploaded files, API usage, and compliance with applicable laws. You may not misuse services, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with operations, or use systems for prohibited conduct described in the Acceptable Use Policy.

03 — Services

Availability, prototypes, and beta tools

Services may include websites, dashboards, prototypes, AI-assisted workflows, APIs, PWAs, mobile apps, research-oriented tools, consulting, educational implementations, and operational systems. Beta tools and prototypes may change, break, lose data, be discontinued, or produce incomplete outputs. Service availability is not guaranteed unless separately agreed in writing.

Information provided through this website, application, dashboard, prototype, or service is for general informational, operational, research, or business purposes only. It is not medical, legal, financial, emergency, or professional clinical advice unless separately agreed in a written contract.

05 — Intellectual Property

Content and ownership

HSAM.net, the Institute for Civil Memory, GLC / Gwyn Legacy, and their licensors retain rights in site software, designs, documentation, systems, workflows, brand assets, educational materials, and platform materials. Users, contributors, partners, and clients retain rights in their pre-existing materials unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. Project deliverables, licenses, and usage rights may be defined in separate contracts, permissions, or statements of work.

06 — Payments

Fees and client work

Some services may be free, informational, prototype-stage, grant-supported, internal, or paid. Payment terms, taxes, refunds, subscription terms, late fees, and deliverable acceptance should be defined in the applicable order, invoice, statement of work, or written agreement.

07 — Limits

Disclaimers, liability, and termination

Services are provided as available unless a written agreement states otherwise. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HSAM.net, the Institute for Civil Memory, GLC / Gwyn Legacy, and their contributors, maintainers, and service providers disclaim implied warranties and limit liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. Access may be suspended or terminated for misuse, security risk, nonpayment, legal risk, or violation of terms.
